Thank you.

Had a lovely day at the Great Yorkshire Show watching Nick and Claire show hounds. Although we didn't win anything, hounds were brilliant. Hope to see some more supporters at Peterborough next week.

RE the Treasure Hunt: Just a quick note of thanks and well done, firstly to John for taking the time to organise the questions and route. It was really good fun and mind bending. Well done the 'cheating' team who won (Mr. Turner I will be keeping an eye on you in future!!! Wink wink grin.) And well done everyone else who got round.

Hope to see you all at the hound exercise.
Rachael Mowbray

Many Thanks to John Jaines, who organised a great treasure hunt. Well done to the victors, Sue & Jon Turner, who deserve their win, given I tried to divert them early on!!!!!!! A Great Evening was had by all.

Comments: Many thanks to all of those who helped me yesterday following Pluto slipping over at Oxcombe and depositing me heavily on the floor. Well done to whoever caught up with him and brought him back safely, luckily he is none the worse and trotted out sound this morning. Special thanks to Beany and Rob Pears who stayed with me and organised transport to get me back to the meet and Rob very kindly and selflessly gave up the remainder of his days sport to drive my trailer with me and the horse back to Amber Hill and install Pluto safely in his stable prior to making sure I got to the hospital. Also many thanks to Sandi for the pain killers and to the guy who's name I unfortunately did not remember, who drove me back to the meet. It all goes to show what a great bunch of people the South Wold followers are. My season is now over due to broken collar bone and heavily bruised ribs but I wish you all the best of sport for the last two days. Roger

Comments: I am delighted to see that the hut is still up and running. I was a groom for the hunt from 1985-87 and enjoyed myself even though it was hard work under christopher stamp. He had a great love for the horses and taught us all very very high standards so they were happy after a days hunting with "cookie" and his son. I still think about the place. Fond memories.

I am now lucky enough to have found the perfect horse and I have happily subscribed and had some fantastic days hunting. I'm thrilled to be part of a great team and have been made very welcome, and to Rachael Mowbray, i'v read your thank you on the board from the opening meet, well no worries, I know how it feels when you are unable to stop. I dont think your wet white foamy reins helped much when it came to some of those jumps down there. Thats it for now, happy hunting. Kind regards, Olivia P.S Rachel, i'l thank Barry for you, (but please remember he's my Sugar Daddy and i'm not sharing him)!

Comments: I have been hunting with the South Wold Hunt since I was 4 (28 years ago) to which I have had my ups and downs as im sure everyone has.Over the last few years I have been given the opportunity to do things I would never have thought possible. Some would say I am biased as you all know Nick and Clare are like family to me.So far this year I have travelled the country to many hound shows and when you have the likes of Lords asking to look at our hounds because hes heard of their great reputation, that has had us beaming with pride. We took hounds to a Countryside Day to which 800 children attended to be told by the organizer we were the most popular attraction. The parades we have done has had the ring full of children and adults. Then we have the inter-hunt teams which have definately done us proud.Plus our terriermen also travelling the country representing the SWH and getting brilliant results. Not to mention the Supporters Club events which are as always great fun. Personally I think everybody is doing a fantastic job and putting in a great effort to get the SWH climbing the ladder. So come on this anonymous person, join us,dont work against. You might be able to enjoy it as much as I have!

Comments: Just to say a big thank you for all the help and support we have had from the "many" during our away days and practices for the inter hunt relay events. We have had highs and lows but always enjoyed ourselves. Very well done SWH A and B teams and Ed with his terriers. The anonymous caller does not deserve the oxygen of publicity but perhaps they may wish to reflect that under the present leadership during this summer the SWH have:- 1)Shown hounds at many shows, winning trophies. 2)Paraded hounds at more venues 3)Had more volunteers to walk puppies 4)Been to more "meet the public"days 5)Entered teams for the hunt relays with success. 6)The fence building team have built more fences(well over 250 in total)than ever before to aid crossing our lovely country. We have done this as a TEAM and I think everyone concerned should be congratulated-I am proud of all the "hard workers". FORGET that sniper-I am looking forward to kicking on behind the SW hounds next season despite all the legal restrictions we must adhere to and meeting friends old and new. It is meant to be fun after all!! PS And to all our great SWH farmers without whom there would not be a hunt lets wish them a dry harvest with bumper crops!!

What with best turn out for one relay team and second over all from the other as well as Edd doing a grand job in the terrier ring I think everyone deserves a pat on the back for their success. Its not easy to book time off work, leave our yards and seak outside help for the day while we enjoy ourselves so thanks to everyone for making it such a memerable day out. And to top the day off a slice of pat's birthday cake and a glass of bubbly finished the day in style. It was great to have a chat with everyone about the day back at the box and here's to a good seasons hunting to follow. WELL DONE EVERYONE Best Regards Mark and Carolyn

Comments: Good to hear you all had brill day at Peterborough yesterday. Sorry we couldnt be there. Have been hunting with SWH since we were children and overjoyed that Hannah has had so much fun over the last 5 seasons, (now 17), always miffed she misses the weekday hunt days. She gained her hunting certificate too through the PC. Anyone new out riding, H always is polite as is the thing to do. We all want to have fun along with revoking the hunting ban. Its actually good we are a smaller hunt, know each other and see the hounds working too. A great British tradition, a lovely site to see even on a winters day, as my old dad would say! So after all these wonderful words said, could the unsigned person please contact SWH........

I had a direct line to Stephen, so I heard all the live commentary. Well done to both teams you should be very proud as I am of you all. Thank you to Kathryn, Natalie & Stephen for taking the welsh hounds.Well done to Ed in having a brilliant day with his terriers. It quite a turn around from never going to Peterborough, to entering two inter hunt teams, showing hounds & terriers & being asked to take welsh hounds for display. Well done to everyone for their effort. If anyone has any criticisms of how the hunt is run please do not hesitate to contact me, it will be strictly in confidence. Unless people tell us their concerns, how can they be addressed? Hunting will soon be here lets pull together and have some fun.

Comments: To the person who couldn't find the conviction to sign their name.... Shouldn't everyone be putting all of their energies into revoking the hunting ban (whilst hunting within the law at present)and working for the good of the South wold and Hunting as a whole, everyone has an opinion and the right to air it but at least have the conviction to stand by it, even if it isn't always the most popular of things to be saying,we are all here for the same purpose, 'HUNTING as it should be and not for self gratification entries onto the guestbook, everyone works very hard for the hunt, in the forefront and behind the scenes, but everyone contributes because of their love of the sport. We have had as a family many happy days, robert since a child, and myself and beani in later years with the South wold and can only praise, the welcome we all have recieved especially beani ( 14 yrs ) have recieved along the way... Nikki looked after Beani on her first day on her wayward pony..and we are most grateful for that, her confidence has grown and grown throughout the season and accumulated in competing on Saturday at Navenby and getting around with her team mates from B team...(not bad considering she wouldn't jump a stick a year ago... and myself with little confidence last year at Biscathorpe when Robert Howell, cantered along side of me to help me along, and quite literally holding my hand..Sorry it long winded but how can you answer all of those 'comments' in a few short words..

Comments: To the anonymous caller who left the message on our guest book on 16th July and who is clearly confused between the South Wold Hunt and Southwold, a seaside town in Suffolk. Your comments are noted but they would carry much more weight if you had the courage and self conviction to make then openly rather than hiding behind anonymity. Our doors are always open to genuine hunting people who are prepared to recognise the legal restrictions under which Hunts are now obliged to operate. We cannot continue to practice " genuine hunting " and are legally limited to hunting a false scent trail or hunting with only two hounds and flushing foxes to standing guns. Hunting a false scent trail may seem to you more akin to a " Riding Club Activity " and we would agree that it is not ideal; it is however the only viable option that we currently have under the Hunting Act. With regard to your assertion of a " closed shop " for the " accepted few " the South Wold has never been more open and inclusive than it is today. We welcome anyone who wishes to join us in working openly towards the successful future of the South Wold and towards the future return to legal genuine hunting. We do not however welcome those who seek to bring the Hunt into disrepute either by publicly advocating illegal activities or by means of underhand or anonymous infighting and trouble stirring. If you count yourself as a genuine hunting person and have grievances that you wish to air, by all means raise them either in person, by letter or by e-mail but please have the courage and self respect to do it openly rather than anonymously.

In 2006 Hounds visited both the South and North PC camps and held the traditional Autumn and December "Childrens Meets" in the 2006/7 season. This year we are giving all PC members the opportunity to earn their Hunting Certificate, early in the 2007/08 season. (If you are a PC member and would like to take part in the Hunt Cert please contact me, 07952282705). If there is anything more we can do to encourage the youngsters I would be happy to hear from anyone. Finally a big WELL DONE to the SWH teams that went to Peterboro. Well Deserved!!!!!!

I would strongly suggest that this person adds their name to this mailing list and makes an effort to keep in touch. Although I no longer ride with the hunt, find it is a large part of our horsey and social life and would strongly recommend anyone, novice or experienced, to come along and join us. We're puppy walking this summer with Gravy, Gossip and little Guilty and it's great. So stop moaning whoever you are and make a bit of effort yourself.

I have found this through my own experience. I have only been hunting with the South Wold seriously for 3 years, and in that time I have made many friends. The Chairman's door is ALWAYS open, and he will happily talk to anyone about any queries, misunderstandings they may have. Comments: After many years of seeing various hunts around the country and watching your hunt come through my village, I am taking the plunge and hope to be hunting with you next week, the very first time I have hunted. Would be nice if you could post some do's and don'ts of hunting on your website for us hunting virgins!!
